The Milwaukee Brewers jumped on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Los Angeles Dodgers early Monday night, and a 7-4 Game 2 win gives them a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. Teams have gone a historic 8-51 when trailing 2-0 in the League Championship Series. The series now shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday, after a night off.

In the late game, the Cleveland Guardians waited out Tampa Bay Rays starter Drew Rasmussen and then went after the bullpen, cruising to a 7-3 win in Game 1 of the ALCS.

Both teams reached their series by eliminating opponents in the best-of-three Wild Card Series. The Dodgers beat the Braves, the Brewers beat the Padres, the Rays knocked out the Yankees, and the Guardians escaped the White Sox. The Astros, Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies were eliminated in the Wild Card round.
